Sometimes it is easy to forget that audio production is not only recording and editing music tracks, but also includes editing spoken word. This type of skill is used to create audio books, recording voice-overs for commercials and movies, and especially to produce radio broadcasts and advertisements.
In this project, you will edit a raw voice recording to match a script. Your client is Billy Bob's Auto Warehouse. You have his original recording (as you will see, Mr. Billy Bob is not so good at recording a commercial) and the written script of what the radio commercial should say exactly.
To do this you need to:
1. Download the files above.
2. Create a new folder in your documents folder and title it BILLY BOB PROJECT.
3. Drag the files from your Billy Bob Project folder into Premiere.
4. Edit the audio just like you would if you were editing video.
5. Arrange Billy Bob's recording in the correct order and edit it to match the script exactly.
6. Add background music to make the production appealing and persuasive. I used some hillybilly music to set the mood!
7. Remember to match the script exactly!
8. Try to finish this by the end of class. If you don't finish, it is due Friday.
When you have finished your project, save it as an mp3 file.
When you export, next to FORMAT, select MP3 from the drop down menu.
Name it lastname + billybob.
Export it using the .MP3 encoder and name the output file the same name (ex: fursebillybob.MP3).
Submit your exported project into your Google Drive.
Don't forget to review the rubric to make sure you are meeting all of the project requirements!
Check out my example above to get an idea of what it is supposed to be.

.As you may notice when listening to the radio, advertisements incorporate special track effects like echo and reverb to help grab attention and persuade the audience.
In this project, you will learn how to add special effects to the tracks of audio in Premiere, as well as further incorporate sound effects and background music to help your radio advertisements sound appealing and persuasive.
Your client is Dorton Arena in Raleigh, NC. They are hosting a monster truck rally and Sesame Street wrestling match (fun for adults and children!). You have been given a raw recording of the commercial, a voice-over from Elmo talking trash to Big Bird, and a sound effect or two. You have also been provided with the final script of the commercial.
Your job is to cut and splice the original audio recording to match the script, then add in some excerpts from Elmo's voice-over. You will use the software to add special effects like pitch shifter and reverb. Finally, you will incorporate sound effects and background music you can find on YouTube to help persuade your audience to attend the monster truck rally and Sesame Street wrestling tournament.
When you have finished your project, review the rubric to make sure you are meeting all of the requirements! Save your project as an mp3 file and name it lastname + monster. Export your radio advertisement using the .MP3 encoder and save it with the same name (ex: fursemonster.MP3). Export the file into your Google Drive.
Check out my example above to get an idea of what it is supposed to be. Do not make it exactly like mine!
