HOUSTON TOURISM BILLBOARD

Directions
Using photos of Houston landmarks you find, create a Billboard for Explore Houston (The Tourism bureau for the City of Houston). Almost ALL of the images must be selected and cut out and the backgrounds removed with clean hard edge selections. This type of selection technique will be shown with step by step notes given as a resource on the page below.

STEP 1
Open Photoshop
Go to File > New
Enter the following to create a new document:
Name is your first initial, your last name, then tourism
Width: 30 Inches
Height: 10 inches
Resolution: 175
Click create.
Go to File > New

Click create.
STEP 2
Select a color for the background of your poster by selecting a new Foreground color
Pick this color below to begin ( you may change later if you want)
Red 120 - Green 113 - Blue 96

and then Edit > Fill with Foreground Color and click OK

STEP 4
Use the various selection tools you learned to select different Houston buildings and landmarks. If you forgot, the video is available below.
Remember, you need 10 images total

Add the Visit Houston Logo and Houston Seal. Make both logos small and put them in a bottom corner.

Select the Type Tool in Photoshop
Click on the background at the bottom right or left corner and Type out - The City of Houston Tourism (24pts. for size) in white or black
Click on the background at the bottom right or left corner and Type out - Visit https://www.visithoustontexas.com/ (24pts. for size) in white or black

STEP 6
When finished, export it as a JPEG and name it your first initial, your last name, then HoustonBillboard. Then turn it into Google Classroom.
